NCAA News!

The votes are in!

Ok y'all, it's tournament time in Tennessee!!

On the bus ride home, in our super-cool bus with satellite TV, we watched the NCAA tournament selection show, and we're headed to Dayton, Ohio to play the Oklahoma State University Cowboys. A nine-seed is definitely, less than we were wanting, but it could have been much worse! The only thing that worries me is being in the same bracket as a one-seed, Pittsburgh.

I hope we can rope those cowboys into looking past us, and then catch those panthers sleeping up in a tree.

I'll keep y'all posted on the travels. I just hope Dayton knows what's coming, I'm a dog with a taste for adventure!

Oh Well

Well, that went a little worse than expected!

Our guys played a tough game against Mississippi State, and ended up falling just short. It was very exciting though, and I don't think the loss will hurt our seeding in the NCAA tournament too badly.

Tampa was a great city to be in for the SEC tournament, and its just too bad we had to fall right at the end, and after playing so hard. It would have been nice to win, but I just have to remember we've come so far over the past few years, and its only a matter of time before we end up winning everything. Plus, how many other conferences have so many teams who beat each other up so much every other week? Big Ten? nope. Big East? please...the SEC is the conference to be in for all sports no matter what the talking heads on ESPN say.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

One More Win!

Today is the day!

Just a quick note before the game!

Today, the Men’s basketball team plays for the SEC tournament championship! So it’s Dog vs. Dog for the SEC crown! Good thing I’d pick a Bluetick Hound over a sad-faced bulldog any day. Haha! If our guys play half as well as they did yesterday, we should have a nice trophy sitting in Coach Pearl’s office!

Well, lots of stuff to do before the game! Stay tuned, and watch for me on ESPN!

A Tigerless Final!

Can I get a GO VOLS!!!!?

Wow! What a day! First, LSU gets beat by Mississippi State, and then we hold off a pesky Auburn team to advance to the FINALS! This is the best the team has done in the tournament in a while, and I’m so glad I can be here to represent our great school, and ALL of our sports teams!

Aubie started out trying to upstage me, but the band, cheerleaders, dancers and I were NOT going to let that happen. With their help, I danced circles around that silly tiger, and took the wind out of his fans’ sails. Ha!
So after the game, I said goodbye to Aubie and said it was good to see him. He snapped back with a smile on his face and said that he’d see me during football season.

Championship game is tomorrow, and I have a great feeling about us beating those Bulldogs!

WHAT A GAME

Hello again, and GO VOLS!!

Well, looks like yours truly will be in Tampa until at least Sunday! Our team totally crushed Alabama tonight! The guys came out with some great fire tonight, and it was great to stick it to the Tide since they won on that last-second three-pointer on Sunday. Today, it was our time to shine, and shine we did. High-flying dunks, alley-oops and fast-break points were all over the court, and ALL of our guys got to play tonight!

So after the win, we said goodbye to Big Al, and the Alabama spirit squad, and headed for the hotel to get something to eat. While we were eating, we saw the game after us finish, and Auburn beat Florida, so that means it’s a showdown with the tigers tomorrow for a spot in the final.

So ‘til then, I’m going to get some rest, gotta be ready for Aubie tomorrow, I have a feeling he’s going to want to have some sort of dance off.

Hello from beautiful Tampa!

After a good ten hours on that bus, I sure am glad to be in our hotel! I would have updated last night, but by the time we got to the rooms, I was dog tired. ;)
We are really lucky, because we are staying just five blocks from the St. Pete Times Forum where the games will be played. PLUS, the team is staying in the same hotel!
Tampa is great, its sunny, warm, there really couldn’t be anything better…well, scratch that. I would change the fact that the hotel is crawling with Kentucky Wildcat fans…

Tonight is our first game, and we’re going to have our paws full with Alabama for the second time in a week. I feel really good about it though, because I know coach will have the guys practicing free throws till the cows come home. Haha.
Win or lose, this has been a great trip, and we’re here till at least tomorrow morning, but I think we can beat this Alabama team, and make a good run to the NCAA tournament.

STILL ON THE ROAD!

GREETINGS FROM MACON!

Hey everybody! We just stopped in Macon, Georgia to eat and stretch our legs! People sure are nice down here, even though we’re close to that other school with a dog for a mascot…UGA…enough said…

The weather is SO much warmer than when we left this morning from Knoxville, and I’m sweating my tail off just thinking about all the things I’ll have to do down when we greet the team! I’m really looking forward to getting down there, and showing those other mascots and teams what Tennessee is all about. I hope that Aubie tries to challenge me to a dance-off, because he has no chance for the moves I’m ready to throw at him, HA!

But for now, I’m gonna take myself for a walk around the mall, and hope that they don’t catch on that a dog is on the loose in a place meant for people! Only six more hours on the bus! (at least that’s what the cheerleaders keep telling me)
Next time you hear from me, I’ll be in sunny Tampa!
